The Alfa Theatre has included the production for the very youngest in its repertoire, thus catering to families with children and mothers. After the production Knock, Knock, Knock. Penguin?!, we are addressing preschool and early kindergarten children for the second time. And this time we will explore light and darkness. Why? Different types of light accompany us from morning to evening, from waking up to sleeping, indoors and outdoors. Light can work magic and, in its imagination and vision of the world, it also enchants a child. Theatre has a special talent for magic: imagine fishermen who catch light instead of fish. Or a cat that can do extraordinary things, for example, when playing with light and shadow. Then we have the light fountain, how it can play light! And how can the theatre transform space: where are the windows and where are the doors? And where is the light that it can let in and out? Light and darkness – two basic sensations. Sometimes light blinds, sometimes it brings the relief of knowing where we are and what is there. Sometimes it mysteriously sneaks through a keyhole or a crack in a door. And that is why we invite you to a magical theatrical world, where children and adults can experience the light magic of short stories, close to the discovering perspective of a small child. Experienced author and director Jiří Ondra will open a light laboratory in Alfa together with co-author and dramaturg Lucie Ferenzová and set designer Karel Czech, and young and old viewers will be able to participate in a fascinating joint exploration of light miracles. And at the end of the performance, they will join in the game: have you ever painted with light?! Everything is possible in the theater…
